Five Fabulous Fall/Winter 2023 Sewing Patterns for Your Stylish Wardrobe

As the leaves start to change colors and the air turns crisper, it's time to shift our focus from summer dresses to cozy fall and winter attire. The sewing machine is revved up, and I've handpicked five fabulous NEW (to me) sewing patterns to add a touch of warmth and style to your wardrobe (and mine) this season. Join me on this sewing voyage as we explore these patterns, perfect for the upcoming chilly months.

1. Comfy Sweatpants for Lazy Days Pattern Link: Jogger Sewing Pattern

When the cold winds blow, and you crave a day of comfort, what could be better than a pair of cozy sweatpants? This jogger sewing pattern is a versatile choice, ranging from XS to XXXL. Whether you're lounging at home or stepping out for a quick errand, these joggers will be your new best friend.

2. The Timeless Turtleneck Dress Pattern Link: Turtleneck Dress Sewing Pattern

For a blend of elegance and warmth, the turtleneck dress is a must-have in your fall/winter wardrobe. This easy pattern ensures that you don't have to compromise on comfort or style. Sew it up in your favorite winter fabrics for a chic and cozy look.

3. The Classic Dress Shirt Dress Pattern Link: YouTube Tutorial

Taking inspiration from the timeless dress shirt, this YouTube tutorial will guide you through the process of crafting your very own dress shirt dress. It's a versatile and sophisticated addition to your wardrobe, and you can customize it to suit your unique style. I love to pair mine with thigh high boots to give it a fall touch.

4. Embark on the Jean Journey

When it comes to conquering a fall/winter wardrobe, it's time to tackle a classic: my first pair of jeans. I have yet to find a definitive pattern, but I’m thinking of cloning an existing pair of jeans that I love. What jeans patterns do you love? I’d love to hear from you!

(Bonus) Empress of Style: Empire Waist Dress Pattern Link: YouTube Tutorial

This pattern is a bonus because although it’s technically part of my fall wardrobe, I used this pattern to create my Halloween costume! I dressed up as Catherine Zeta - Jones character with my husband as Zorro. This dress is the perfect Halloween costume dress as I could easily customize this into a Pirate, Renaissance character, and more.

With these five fantastic patterns, your fall/winter wardrobe is well on its way to being both stylish and warm. Let me know in the comments if you’d be interested in a pattern review as I test out these new patterns this season. Whether you're creating comfortable sweatpants, chic turtleneck dresses, or tackling your first pair of jeans, you'll be ready to embrace the upcoming season with open arms. Get ready to sew your way to a cozy and stylish fall and winter. Happy sewing, and stay warm! 🧵❄️
